  2. IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT THIS PRERELEASE           (March 13, 1999)

  5. ! It's strongly recommended that you make a backup of the whole
  6. ! YAM directory before you start the installation. The format of
  7. ! the configuration files has changed, so you can't go back
  8. ! and use preview 5 or 6 if you haven't saved your old files!

  11. This pre-release fixes many bugs of the last version and contains
  12. a couple of new features and improvements.
  13. If you encounter any problems, make sure that you've installed
  14. all the MUI libraries from this archive. German speaking users
  15. must install the included version of the YAM.catalog.

  19. This version of YAM 2.0 is still in beta stage. It's
  20. very likely that some functions don't work as expected.
  21.  
  22. The final version of YAM 2.0 will be different
  23. from this prerelease in these points:
  24.  
  25. - Known bugs fixed
  26. - Localized for many other languages
  27. - More icon sets and example scripts included
  28.  
  29. The release date is not known yet. Go to the YAM
  30. website and register for updates if you want to
  31. be notified when the final version is ready.

  37. Bouncing messages didn't work if the To: line was the last one in the
  38.    header
  39. Searching on CC and long To fields failed
  40. When getting mail from multiple servers, the pre-selection list was not
  41.    cleared
  42. When replying to multiple mails when using the Mailing List support, the
  43.    address was entered multiple times
  44. 'Apply to sent mail' option in filters was ignored
  45. The 'automatic' option for the transfer window didn't work as it should
  46. YAM couldn't decode nested multipart messages
  47. When editing a message, a wrong name was set for uuencoded attachments
  48. YAM crashed after printing a message
  49. Manipulation of attached e-mail messages was broken
  50. YAM didn't display an error message if save attachments failed
  51. Crashes when using ARexx command WRITEEDITOR
  52. Reflowing and quoting of quoted messages
  53. Option 'LocalCharset' wasn't read from .config
  54. Texts with more than 16% non US-ascii characters were base64 encoded even
  55.    if 8bit mode was allowed
  56. YAM lost the current translation table when reading more than one message
  57. Remote filters didn't work
  58. Sorting the distribution list members by drag&drop didn't work
  59. Several enforcer hits or crash when terminating YAM
  60. Save decrypted PGP message didn't work
  61. Diffie-Hellman keys were not listed correctly
  62. Encrypted PGP/MIME messages didn't contain content-type headers
  63. Texts encoded with PGP/MIME were not decoded before displaying
  64. YAM crashed when dropping files on the appicon
  65. Moving messages on the same partition didn't reset the archive protection
  66.    bit
  67. OpenURL.library support didn't always work
  68. YAM hung when the alias of an existing address book entry was set to an
  69.    empty string
  70. When using %e in signatures, only the first line of ENV:SIGNATURE was
  71.    inserted
  72. When editing a sent message, 'add info' and signature settings were not
  73.    remembered
  74. Toolbar buttons weren't ghosted if folder is empty
  75. Removing attachments in the read window didn't update the size display in
  76.    the message list
  77. When importing messages, some of them were displayed twice in message list
  78. When starting YAM from a directory other than the program directory, some
  79.    configuration files couldn't be found
  80. Random tagline generator ignored first and last tagline
  81. YAM didn't recognize URLs starting with https://
  82. The progress bar did not update when filtering mail

  89. LISTSELECT command now allows selection of individual messages
  90. Due to popular demand, YAM now allows nonsense status changes, e.g. from

  92. If no group for new addresses is specified, new addresses are placed in the
  93.    root of list
  94. Filters now move messages to protected folders without prompting for the
  95.    password
  96. Zero length files are automatically deleted when YAM updates an index
  97. Source and destination folder may be identical when copying messages
  98. Attachment requesters in read window now support multi-selection
  99. It's not longer possible to create ambiguos aliases in the address book
  100. Modified indexes are saved when iconifying YAM
  101. Sorting by subject now ignores all prefixes like 'xx: ' or 'xx[...]: '
  102. Amiga executables are recognized and labelled as 'application/x-amiga-exe'
  103. Result list in search window is now sortable
  104. YAM now displays current host/spoolfile name in transfer window
  105. Tagline hashfile is now automatically updated if the tagline file has been

  107. Reworked folder settings: separate configuration window, menus to create/
  108.    edit/delete folders
  109. You can now create an unlimited number of folders
  110. Sort by subject now ignores any mailing list suffix if the suffix is
  111.    embedded in [ ]
  112. YAM now puts quotation marks around URLs before passing them to the ARexx
  113.    script
  114. Re-introduced keyboard shortcuts for the toolbar buttons (problems with
  115.    menus fixed)
  116. 'Project/Restart' now ignores the initial startup options, so you can
  117.    always login as another user
  118. 'Save address' now puts up a requester if sender and return address differ
  119. German and English guides have been updated and fixed
